TDS and TCS returns

Deduct at the right rate, pay on time, file quarterly statements and issue certificates.

About TDS and TCS returns

Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) means deducting a portion of tax when you make certain payments, such as salary, rent, contractor and professional fees, commission and interest, and paying it to the government. Tax Collected at Source (TCS) applies to sellers of specified goods. Deductors need a TAN, must deposit the tax by the 7th of the following month, file quarterly statements, and give certificates to the persons from whom tax was deducted.

Wrong rates, late payment or missing statements lead to interest, late fees and disallowance of expenses. From 1 April 2026 the new Income-tax Act, 2025 renumbers sections and forms, for example the salary TDS statement is now Form 138, while the older 24Q, 26Q and 27Q are the earlier names. We follow the form that applies to each period.
