Monthly GST returns
GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and other GST returns prepared and filed before the due date.
Match your purchases with GSTR-2B so you claim every eligible rupee and nothing extra.
Input tax credit (ITC) is the GST you paid on purchases that you can set off against the GST you collect on sales. You can claim it only if the invoice appears in your GSTR-2B, the supplier has filed and paid the tax, you have received the goods or services, and you pay the supplier within 180 days. Some credits, such as those on certain motor vehicles, food and personal use, are blocked under Section 17(5).
Reconciliation compares your purchase books with GSTR-2B, finds invoices that are missing, wrongly reported or ineligible, and helps you follow up with suppliers before you file GSTR-3B. Credit for a financial year must be claimed by 30 November after the year or the date of filing the annual return, whichever is earlier, so reconciliation also protects credit from lapsing.
The supplier may not have filed, may have filed after the cut-off date, or may have used a different GSTIN or period. If the supplier files GSTR-1 after the 11th, it usually shows in the next month's GSTR-2B.
Not safely. The credit can be denied and demanded back with interest.
